Un verdadero balde de agua fría para los que disfrutamos de la música de tan creativa mente para el rock. Lo más duro era que Mark Lanegan seguía en constante creatividad y de no suceder lo fatídico, estamos seguros que habría dado para muchos discos y música más. Era un hombre inquieto, claro está, y ahora el tiempo hablará por si solo de su amplio legado musical y productividad en diversos proyectos.
Pero lamentablemente falleció ayer debido a complicaciones de salud serias el último año y el mundo del rock no fue ajeno a la noticia. Figuras como Iggy Pop, Garbage, el legendario Peter Hook (New Order/ Joy Division) su ex-colega del grunge Tad Doyle (Tad) , J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), Greg Dulli de Afghan Whigs y su compañero en Gutter Twins , Moby, Mark Morton de Lamb of God, Duff McKagan y Slash de Guns’N Roses, Richard Patrick de Filter, Laura Jane Grace de Against Me! su ex-compañero Alain Johannes o la cuenta oficial de Screaming Trees tuvieron imágenes y palabras de homenaje para él.
